Another year older and I guess to a certain extent another year wiser. A lot has happened this past year. 30 was a big year for me. I welcomed my first child into the world, switched positions at work, and decided to go back to school. It's been an extremely busy but extremely rewarding year. In my job evaluation last year my boss made the statement that "2008 was going to be my year". From her lips to God's ears. Not even a month later I found out I was pregnant after 2 years of trying. Everything just kind of fell in place for me last year. God has placed the right people in my life at this very moment. Not only where family is concerned, but also professionally and socially. I have some of the best "cheerleaders" around. Can't wait to see what happens now with my 31st year beginning.........
Yesterday was an awesome day for me. For the first time, I was able to celebrate Mother's Day by not only honoring my Mom, but also by being a mom. It was a whole new feeling for me. At this point Anna was more interested in eating the tissue paper and gift bags and wondering why that fork with the chocolate cake just seemed to bypass her tiny little mouth - even though she was opening up wide for it. Being a mom is one of the best and hardest jobs out there, but definitely worth every minute. Where else can you get paid with smiles, giggles, and slobbery smooches. Ahh.... I love it!!
I have no clue as to how my story will end. But that’s all right. When you set out on a journey and night covers the road, that’s when you discover the stars. —Nancy Willard
Here's a play-by-play of my morning. (If I wouldn't get another Monday, I'd call a mulligan.) We all overslept this morning. Rushed out of the house to take Anna to my mom's. Got there about twenty minutes late which in turn made me arrive at work twenty minutes late. Got in my office, pressed the power button on my computer and got a rainbow of colors on the screen. That's as far as it went. Had to call in the expert to fix this one. Thanks again Murat!! Then I had a last minute meeting to go to. Left for lunch and on the drive I attempted to shift into the left lane but didn't see the car that was in that lane already. Luckily I was able to swerve back over without having an accident. Hopefully, I can pick up my baby and hide out at home for the rest of the day.

Yesterday I took the final in my Comp II course. I had to write a reflective essay about what I've learned in the class. After 30 minutes of writing I submitted my essay. I checked this morning and I received 100 points. That brings my final grade to 95.2. Good enough for me!!!
We just discovered that Anna's first tooth has magically appeared!! After months of slobbering, chewing on everything, and a little fussiness she has passed a major milestone. She's growing so fast!
